Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, accessing, or using IT Connect (the "Platform"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service (the "Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use our Platform. These Terms apply to all users, including students, company representatives, and administrators.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 16 years of age to use IT Connect. By using the Platform, you represent and warrant that you meet this age requirement. You also agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration and to update it as necessary. IT Connect reserves the right to refuse service or terminate accounts for users who provide false or misleading information.

3. User Accounts

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials, including any passwords or authentication tokens (including Google Sign-In). You agree to notify IT Connect immediately of any unauthorized use of your account. You are fully responsible for all activities that occur under your account, whether authorized by you or not. IT Connect is not liable for any loss or damage arising from your failure to protect your account.

4. Use of the Service

You agree to use IT Connect only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. Prohibited conduct includes:

• Uploading false, misleading, or fraudulent information
• Impersonating any person or entity, or falsely stating your affiliation
• Uploading harmful, illegal, offensive, or infringing content (including viruses or malware)
• Attempting to hack, disrupt, or interfere with the Platform, servers, or other users' accounts
• Scraping, crawling, or using automated means to access the Platform without permission
• Using the Platform for any commercial purpose not expressly authorized by IT Connect

5. Student Responsibilities

As a student using IT Connect, you agree to:

• Provide accurate and truthful academic, personal, and contact information
• Ensure that all documents you upload (ID cards, IT letters, resumes, scanned files) are valid, authentic, and belong to you
• Use the Platform in good faith and only apply to opportunities that match your qualifications and interests
• Respect the confidentiality of any information shared by companies during the application process

6. Company & Third-Party Interaction

IT Connect acts solely as a platform to connect students with companies offering industrial training opportunities. We do not:

• Guarantee any placement, internship, or job offer
• Guarantee that companies will respond to applications
• Endorse or verify the accuracy of information provided by companies
• Act as an employer, agent, or intermediary

Any agreement, offer, or arrangement between a student and a company is solely between those parties. IT Connect is not a party to any such arrangement and disclaims all liability arising from any interactions, disputes, or outcomes.

7. Content and Uploads

You retain full ownership of any documents, files, or information you upload to IT Connect ("User Content"). By uploading User Content, you grant IT Connect a limited, worldwide, royalty-free license to store, process, and share that content with companies you apply to, and with our service providers (e.g., Firebase Storage), solely for the purpose of providing and improving the Platform. You represent that you have all necessary rights to upload and share your User Content.

8. Privacy

Your privacy is important to us. Our collection, use, and sharing of your personal information is governed by our Privacy Policy. By using IT Connect, you consent to the practices described in the Privacy Policy.

9. Termination

IT Connect reserves the right, without notice, to suspend or terminate your account and access to the Platform if you violate these Terms, engage in suspicious or harmful activity, or if required by law. You may also delete your account at any time through the app settings. Upon termination, your right to use the Platform ceases immediately, though certain data may be retained as required by law or our Privacy Policy.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, IT Connect and its administrators, employees, and service providers shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from:

• Actions or inactions of companies or students using the Platform
• Missed opportunities, delays, or rejection of applications
• Data loss or corruption (within reasonable technical limits)
• Service interruptions, downtime, or technical errors
• Unauthorized access to your account due to your failure to protect credentials

In any case, IT Connect's total liability to you shall not exceed the amount you paid to use the Platform (if any) or $100 USD, whichever is less.

11. Disclaimer of Warranties

IT Connect is provided "as is" and "as available" without any warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not warrant that the Platform will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or free from viruses. We disclaim all warranties, including fitness for a particular purpose, merchantability, and non-infringement. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain disclaimers, so these limitations may not apply to you.

12. Changes to These Terms

IT Connect may revise these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will notify you through the Platform or via email. The updated Terms will be effective immediately upon posting, unless otherwise stated. Your continued use of IT Connect after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms. If you do not agree, you should stop using the Platform and delete your account.

13. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, without regard to its conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in Lagos, Nigeria. If you access IT Connect from other locations, you are responsible for compliance with local laws.
